Investigation of a U(IV)/U(III) Thermodynamic Reference Electrode for High-Temperature Molten Fluoride Salts

This peer-reviewed publication presents the development of a high-temperature reference electrode for molten fluoride salts.

The work demonstrates production and characterization of exceptionally pure FLiBe, including free oxide concentrations below 2 ppm and low trace-metal contamination. It describes analytical methods for impurity characterization and the importance of purified FLiBe for accurate and reproducible electrochemical measurements.

Electrochemical Deposition of Molybdenum from Deep Eutectic Solvents Through Fluoride Speciation Control

This peer-reviewed research investigates the electrochemical behavior of molybdenum in deep eutectic solvents and demonstrates how controlling solution chemistry can alter electrochemical processes.

Introducing fluoride ions changes the chemical speciation of molybdenum in solution, enabling electrodeposition under conditions where conventional chloride-based deep eutectic solvents were insufficient.

The research reflects broader expertise in controlling complex fluoride and ionic chemistries for new electrochemical processes and materials-processing technologies.
